NULLSPACE

Field report 09, East Wall, 06:14. The last transmission ended mid-sentence: "Command, the wall is moving. I can see the dark between the stones—"

Your Warden is still receiving orders from the other side.

NULLSPACE is an arena roguelite that runs in the browser. There is no install and no account. You hold a breach for as long as it lets you, then you go back in with better gear.

What you do

Click to move and aim with the cursor. Your weapon fires on its own at whatever is closest, so your hands are free for the real work: stepping out of floor marks, dashing through the gap, and timing four abilities. Every level-up offers three cards from a pool of 36 upgrades. Take one and the other two are gone for this run.

Enemies come through the breach in waves. Stalkers lunge and mark cross-lanes. Brutes seal a patch of floor and pulse it outward. Every attack shows its shape on the ground before it lands, and that shape is how you survive.

Commanders

Warden. Hurt her and a jade ward heals her.
Lancer. Every few seconds a piercing line cuts through everything in front of him.
Binder. Fires runes that explode, and every so often pushes the whole room back.

Each has ten abilities, thirty in all, and you carry four. Dash is its own button, and it is the most important one you have.

Gear

Elites and bosses drop gear for five slots. Break the pieces you don't want into salvage. Thirty-two salvage buys a craft at the Field Forge: you choose the slot and the stat you want guaranteed, and the game rolls the rest.

Legendaries are rare. You can own only one Legendary dash unique at a time, and it rewrites your dash. Depending on the roll it might lay a mine along your path, pull enemies in, open a rift, or heal you as you phase through. There are ten effects, and every item rolls its own cooldown.

Talents

Every 500 points of score becomes one talent point. There are 18 permanent talents, and they apply to all three Commanders. Respec any time and every point comes back.

Casual and Ranked

Casual is endless. No affixes, no leaderboard, and gear gets better the higher your level climbs.

Ranked Hunt gives you three random affixes out of ten, and you don't get to pick them. Kill enough enemies and the hunt charges. When it fills, the arena empties for a solo boss duel. There are five bosses it can be, each with its own attack patterns. Win the duel, take the trophy, then reach the portal. Only extraction counts as a clear. The leaderboard ranks the highest Key you have cleared, then your fastest time.

Every run is a new maze

Each deployment builds its own corridors, bends and branches, so you can't memorise your way through it.

Controls

Move: click or WASD · Abilities: 1–4 · Dash: Space · Inventory: C · Pause: P. All keys can be rebound from the menu.

Notes

  • Gear, talents and salvage are saved in your browser, on the device you play on.
  • Press PLAY and the game goes fullscreen. 16:9 looks best.
  • Music and sound have volume controls in the pause menu.
  • The in-game Field Guide has the lore and the full list of enemies, upgrades and curses.
